Shidokan is an evolution of Kyokushin Karate and incorporates elements of kickboxing, traditional karate, and grappling. As part of our exploration, we demonstrate the differences through sparring and techniques. We'll start with the ritual of packing the Karategi, followed by a brief trip to the dojo. Once there, we get straight into the core elements of Shidokan including Bunkai, Kata, and grappling techniques. Sparring serves as a centerpiece, where the nuances between Kyokushin and Shidokan come to light. The video culminates in the achievement of a significant milestone: my Shidokan black belt exam. This video is just a snapshot of the time spent in Japan, and we're excited to continue this journey back in Sweden. If you find this dive into martial arts as fascinating as we do, please like the video and subscribe to Saikou Karate for more content like this.
