From legendary fighters like Anderson "The Spider" Silva, to Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida; the front kick or front snap kick has been a samurai level highlight to both their careers. It's interesting. It's such a simple and powerful kick, but rarely is it seen at the highest levels of combat. Why is this? Does it have something to do with the fact it originates more so in traditional styles like karate, kung fu and taekwondo? Perhaps that's the psychological blind-spot that makes this technique so effective... Afterall, if you have disciplines like Muay Thai reigning supreme, we'd rather invest our time learning that but at the cost of overlooking the functional aspects of other styles... In this segment we'll be looking at just that. A traditional technique dominating once again in Samurai fashion, with Steven Seagal jests to be icing on the cake.
