A lot of wrestling fans don’t want to openly admit it, but there’s a growing belief that All Elite Wrestling seriously damaged parts of the foundation and overall essence of New Japan Pro-Wrestling over the last several years. And honestly? Deep down, even many hardcore AEW fans probably know there’s truth to that. NJPW once felt completely unique — from its presentation, sports-like atmosphere, roster identity, and overall mystique. But after the crossover relationships, talent movement, booking influence, and constant dependence on Western attention, many longtime fans feel NJPW slowly lost part of what originally made it special. In this video, I talk about: How NJPW’s identity changed over the years Why some fans believe AEW altered NJPW’s presentation The impact of talent departures and partnerships Why modern NJPW feels different compared to its peak era And how wrestling globalization changed the Japanese wrestling scene This doesn’t mean NJPW is dead or incapable of rebuilding. But many longtime fans clearly feel the company lost some of its original aura during this modern wrestling crossover era. And the debate around that probably isn’t ending anytime soon. --- Source: Personal Commentary / wrestling industry discussion --- Plugs: Don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and follow me on X @ x.com/TagPWNews. --- Hashtags: #AEW #NJPW #Bushiroad #WWE #ProWrestling #WrestlingNews #JapaneseWrestling #AEWSickos #TagPWNews
