This Honey Butter Toast is a dessert that's so easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients, but trust me - it tastes like something straight out of a cafe! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in a rich honey butter glaze with deep caramelization. Pair it with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of salted caramel, and you've got a dessert that looks fancy but takes no effort at all! HONEY BUTTER TOAST 2 pieces (3x3 inches, 1 ½ inch thick) INGREDIENTS 3 tablespoons (42g) Butter, softened 2 tablespoons (24g) Brown Sugar 1 tablespoon (21g) Honey Pinch of Salt Japanese Milk Bread Top with Vanilla Ice Cream and Salted Caramel (optional) Bake at 338°F (170°C) for 15-20 minutes. Allow the honey butter toast to cool for 15 minutes. Serve with Vanilla Ice cream and Salted Caramel, then enjoy! Watch the video for full step-by-step. TIPS • Bread Type: Use thick-cut Japanese milk bread or any soft, fluffy bread with a tender crumb. The ideal thickness is about 1½ inches to achieve a crispy outside and soft inside. • Butter Temperature: Use butter at room temperature so it mixes smoothly with the sugar and honey. This ensures a consistent, spreadable glaze. • Honey Butter Mixture: Mix the butter, sugar, honey, and salt until the texture is smooth and well combined. There should be no lumps or visible separation. • Even Coating: Spread an even layer of the honey butter mixture over the top, sides, and bottom of the bread. • Bake and Flip for Even Caramelization: Bake the toast until the edges are golden and crisp, and the surface is deeply caramelized. For the most even result, flip the bread halfway through baking. This helps both sides develop a rich golden color and prevents one side from over-browning. • Cooling Time: Allow the toast to cool for 15 minutes before serving. This helps the glaze set and keeps the texture crisp. • Optional Toppings: Serve with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of salted caramel for an elevated café-style dessert experience.
