Is Slay the Spire 2 worth it? Or should you refund it before the 2-hour mark? Welcome back to Steam Refund Review, the series where I play a game for under two hours and decide: Replay It… or Refund It? Today we’re climbing back into the Spire with Slay the Spire 2, the highly anticipated sequel from Mega Crit. The original game helped define the roguelike deckbuilder genre, and now the sequel has officially launched in Early Access on Steam as of March 5, 2026. Early reactions have been extremely positive, with the game quickly exploding in popularity among deckbuilding fans and roguelike players. But the real question is: does it hook you fast enough to justify keeping it before the Steam refund window closes? In this review, I break down: 🔹 First impressions jumping into Slay the Spire 2 🔹 What the early runs actually feel like 🔹 Gameplay mechanics (deckbuilding, relics, strategy) 🔹 Story and world setup 🔹 Visual upgrades and animations 🔹 Sound design and atmosphere 🔹 Value for the price 🔹 My rating out of 10 🔹 The final verdict: Replay It or Refund It? The original Slay the Spire became one of the most influential roguelikes ever made — but sequels have a tough job. Does Slay the Spire 2 meaningfully evolve the formula, or does it feel like more of the same? If you’ve ever wondered: • Is Slay the Spire 2 worth buying? • Is Slay the Spire 2 good for new players? • Is Slay the Spire 2 better than the original? • How different is Slay the Spire 2? • Is Slay the Spire 2 worth playing in Early Access? This video answers all of that.
