This fantasy tries with a few laughs and not too clever puns and quips. I just needed a meaningful storyline. I wanted to say that it was enjoyable but the truth is it reeked of the old lame Disney scripts that failed so miserably from the 60's and 70's. All too often the actors hammed it up and literally overacted to the point it detracted from enjoying this feebled film. Perhaps the kids will buy into the simple and corny plot but not the adults who expect a bit more than that. Again, it was the script and flimsy plot that let me down. Copycat of Christmas images like Santa Claus with the Easter Bunny was another sign of a weak story concept. Using a sleigh so similar to Santa's was just another example. 4 STARS

I have to admit I was dreading seeing this movie. My husband promised my sons, 5 and 8 he'd take them to see it. I read the reviews and tried to convince the "boys" to do something else. The reviews were AWFUL. We sat through Rango a few weeks okay. It was okay. I didn't particularly like the Alvin movies, but they were bearable. Well, this movie blew Rango and Alvin out of the water. My five year old who asks, "Is it almost over," five minutes into every movie didn't ask me one time. It was very entertaining, and the audience (mostly kids) seemed to love it. The scene where Fred uses E.B. as a hand puppet is hilarious. Best kids movie I've seen with my kids...EVER!
