Sailor Moon define a modern take of shojo mojo or magical girl genre, the anime (were 200 episodes) Reivent it, lately a pack of remake comes from Crystal n Eternal based on some of the arcs of original, now this month Netflix premiere Cosmos Remaking the final season, so how was it? My like of the movie, yes there two parts, the first was pretty much the introduction of the sailor starlight, a pop idols group that later become allies to guardians to find the princess, even the kawai of chibi chibi moon, felt the nostalgia right there cause of chibi style that ve, was also awesome is Sailor Pluto, Uranus, n Neptune go planet to find the source of anomalies, something never knew. This time the dreaded villainous of Sailor Galaxious was pretty awesome, making me forget of one dimensional Queen Beral. The last conflict started awesome seeing Usagi ready to take her down once n for all became something out of Gundam Seed, this time they didn't went crystal on the animation, n not so lot of CG that was light up healthy good. Surprise by end the wedding n last piece drawn by one magical touch Naoko Takeuchi(met her in comic con) like awesome way saying farewell. Downside goes to Venus this time she went full frenetic on her character, becoming the obnoxious of the guardians, with this remake ve problem how easy they defeat the enemy, just one hit n that's it wish were creative or let another guardian make the finish move, I don't know agreed the change of chibi chibi to the white hair 8th wonder Sailor Cosmos, but won't criticize or touch it. So conclude the remake re wonder to whoever loves this genre of anime, Sailor Moon franchise won't go away just the end of this reboot, there gonna be OtakuHeads remembering what made em for in love, but hey wrote fanfic of Sailor Mars Meaning there magic is till there. Sailor Power 4life.

Interesting and flashy animation. Major problems with the story though. The plot consists of sailor guardians, godlike beings with major magical powers, who have broken into two camps consisting of good and evil. The plot ends there. The story takes you on a mind trip, evolving purely by feels, with no nod to logic and storytelling. This is supposedly aimed towards a tween audience but might better be marketed towards late 1960's or early 1970's acid heads. As a tween movie I rate it at a 5. As an acid film, I would give it a 7. This is a heavily influenced head film that would not quite fair as well as 2000 Motels, Yellow Submarine, and Head. This is an acid film, and I'm not referring to microdosing. So I'm sticking with the 5 rating because of the target audience marketing.

Old school, 1992 fan here when it aired every Saturday at 7pm on TV Asahi. Purchased and collected Nakayoshi every month and obsessively collected Carddass trading cards. I've always loved that my childhood heroine remake is being portrayed to the true to the manga arc. HOWEVER, I gave this 9 stars, not a biased, typical 10 because part one really should've been broken into episodes rather than one, fact-paced movie. Part 2 was great. Give it a try, especially if Sailor Moon was your hero growing up just like me. To my fellow Sailor Moon fans from 90s Japan, the theme songs to both parts will bring tears to your eyes.

I'm making a general speech because otherwise it would be an endless review, then the drawings are much much improved from Eternal much more expressive and more detailed especially in the second part of the second film. The main characters even if for a short time were well characterized, Sailor Moon in this version is very determined and not fussy like in the anime of the 90s this is one thing that I have always preferred from this whole remake also Crystal, the background songs are perfect and perfectly describe the feelings that Usagi feels in the various scenes, my favorite soundtrack is definitely the one during the battle against her friends in the second film. The Finale made me cry a lot because in addition to representing a moment of joy at the same time it puts us in front of a worthy end for the remake series of Sailor Moon.

It seems that the creators learned from the mistakes of the past and corrected them. Because although the Eternal movie did not work as a Movie format, Cosmos has now refuted this. The scenes are very well put together, there are no unnecessary parts. The character traits of the characters are well developed, because everyone is lovable and you can identify with each character to some extent. As for the animation, it is even more sophisticated and detailed. The background music also fits the scenes nicely, so you don't have that unpleasant feeling. The Star Arc is perhaps the darkest of them all, so the expectations are high, but I think they finally managed to realize this story and wrap it up in a decent way. Well done!!!

Now that Cosmos movie is on Netflix, for those who have been a fan for over 20 years, you should really not miss it. I gotta say compared to Eternal Movies, Cosmos has better animation (particularly the last part of both films visually, intensity, and pacing are all cenematic worthy) and more compelling plots. Critics: I do find that being 100% faithful adaptation left some parts of the movie less coherent to the stories. Given the limitted screentime, I which they could have skipped and expanded more on some of the parts to make the pacing of both films better. As the Anime industry has been improving significantly both in production, contents, and viewership, I think it would have benefitted the new audience if they move away from stock footage of transformations and really focused on the cohesive story telling. That being said, personally, this has a better ending compared to the 90's anime. It's beautifully done and I think the audience can feel invested in the finale. The backgrounds are stunning throughout the entire time for both films. There are many shots that really stand out not only among the Crystal franchise but the entire Sailor Moon Franchise. Finally, Galaxia really is the star of the show. She has beautiful designs, backstory, lines. If you are a fan, you cannot miss this.

The anime reboot of Sailor Moon starting with Crystal became very hit or miss. The first nine episodes of Crystal are as good as they possibly can be, but then it becomes a meaningless exposition dump. Something very similar happens in Cosmos, where the first part largely is ok where we get to spend time with the sailor senshi that fans know and love. But then they are replaced with endless and extremely tedious exposition of new characters, places and events. Part of me wonders if this might be a cultural thing, or at least an anime convention. But coming at it from a western perspective, you should never use exposition in the later parts of a movie. It will remove all agency and suspense, at this point the viewer should have all the information, and we should just be able to follow the events unfolding. I always thought the Sailor Starlights were weak and their outfits look awful. It's so strange that them changing gender when transforming is not brought up at all. Is it some kind of censorship? I though Eternal was great, and that arc isn't *that* much better than the final one, so a let down that Cosmos was unable to hit the mark. The animation in Cosmos is great, but even Sailor Moon needs more than that.

The stars arc is my favorite of the manga. The movie did a great job of telling it. Usagi sorrow and overcoming it was heartbreaking and beautiful to watch. Galaxia is a scary villain and her story id interesting. Usagi and Mamoru moments are sweet and romantic !! The moments with Usagi and the girls were sweet showing there strong friendship. Usagi with her family was touching. I got the blu est and even though it was only Japanese I understood it thanks to the manga, I'm so glad I got it!!! It's part of Sailor Moon shoeing how amazing she is and how important her friends and love are to her. Definitely recommend.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of the Japanese Blu-ray. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole movie, the soundtrack was great. The tension that was missing in Sailor Stars, it's there! Finally the original story is told. Nothing was altered or had any other changes, so if you read the Manga, you're gonna get exactly what you're expecting. Visually, the movie is stunning. You get to actually see Sailor Galaxia, in all her glory. She's ruthless and doesn't sit around doing nothing. Characters that didn't make it in the Anime... they roar. Sailors Heavy Metal Papillion, Lerhe, Mnsonme, Kakyuu, Phi, Chi, Cosmos...and the Sailor Quartet has a cute little addition. I think (Megumi H) Galaxia's voice actress was perfect; she's most known for voicing Rei in Evangelion. This is true Galaxia, I think her having a more youthful voice fit her better. All the spells and transformation scenes are half and half; Sailormoon has two different transformations; I didn't really like the first one, but I liked the second one a lot more. "Pink Moon Crystal Power, Makeup" was okay; I laughed at the adorable little "Chibi-chibi Crystal Power, makeup". Princess Kakyuu gets her transformation, it's elegant. The battles are beautiful. I don't wanna spoil anything, but I will be curious how they try to translate it and emulate these characters. It won't be easy. Everyone is in top form, and this is the true Sailor War that you didn't get to see in the original Anime. I watched it on Blu-ray at home. No complaints.
